Firstly and foremost, THANK YOU to all our people working in Essential Services, keeping us safe and providing us with what our Country needs right now. But if you’re at home feeling stressed, lonely, vulnerable or fearful of the unknown then I would like to share with you a quick 5 minute meditation whilst you’re making your tea and coffee and we could do this right now because that’s the only thing that is in our control. We can’t change the past and we don’t know what to expect in the future, but we can control our NOW.
As Shakespeare once said – “Nothing is either good or bad, but thinking makes it so” This 5 minute meditation can be practiced anywhere, anytime you’re having a coffee or tea or any other comforting beverage. Likewise, most of you may of heard of the Japanese Tea Ceremony which is very distinctive and can sometimes last for 4 hours with meals or snacks in between. Their ceremony starts with the cleaning of each of the utensils and ends when the ceremony is completed. Tea is more than just a hot drink, it is a very important ritual that has a lot of meaning within their culture. The Japanese Tea Ceremony is considered to represent harmony, respect, purity and tranquillity. So with that in mind, let us start our quick 5 minute meditation which will help bring your mind to the NOW – with regular practice, this will be become easier and easier. Tea Ceremony Meditation
